REV. DR. PETER RAMOS
The
Rev. Dr. Peter Ramos serves as the Senior Pastor of the
Passaic County Christian Center (PCCC). He is a native of
Spanish Harlem in New York City, and was raised in a church
which was birthed out of the Pentecostal Renewal Movement
spearheaded by Rev. Francisco Olazabal. Before beginning
his Kingdom assignment at PCCC as Senior Pastor, Pastor
Peter served as Assistant Pastor to Apostle Noel Santiago.
He has had the blessing of serving Pastor Wilfredo Lugo as a
lay leader, Pastor Miguel Mena as a Youth Pastor and Apostle
Victor Nazario as an Elder. In this joyous journey, each of
these men of God, have left prints which have marked the
life and ministry of Pastor Peter.
Pastor Peter graduated from High School in 1976. That same
year, he graduated from the Latin American Bible Institute
with a Ministerial Diploma after successfully completing the
prescribed 3-year program in theological studies.
His hunger and desire to be
enriched intellectually and spiritually led Pastor Peter to
matriculate in Logos Bible College. There he completed his
Certificate in Biblical Studies. He has continued to take
numerous courses at both secular and Christian universities,
all in an attempt to better equip himself to serve the
Kingdom of God and His people. He completed the
Pastoral Care Awareness Training Course at Blanton-Peale
Institute of Religion and Health co-sponsored by the New
York Theological Seminary. He obtained a Certificate in
Marriage and Family Therapy from the American Association of
Christian Counselors. Pastor Peter earned a Masters and a
Doctorate Degree in Christian Counseling and his
dissertation was honored with the “Best Thesis Award” by the
Board and Faculty of the New Covenant University.
In 2003, Pastor Peter founded and incorporated
The
Christian University LLC. The Christian University offers a
life-transforming curriculum which
promotes an education of the whole person—mind, body, and
spirit. Pastor Peter is currently the President and CEO of
The Christian University. In 2008, The School of Ministry,
the School of Ministerial Fine Arts and the School of
Chaplaincy were all established by Pastor Peter and brought
under the umbrella of The Christian University. Pastor Peter
is the founder and director of the Latino Christian
Counseling Center.
Pastor
Peter is the proud father of three children: Priscilla,
married and serving the PCCC family as Worship Pastor; Peter
Samuel, married and serving the United States as a Sergeant
in the Marine Corps; and Pearl, who serves the Lord and the
ministry and is currently in High School. He is the
jubilant grandfather of a grandson: Maddox.
Pastor Peter loves salsa, merengue and old fashioned “trio”
music. His favorite food is “chaufa de pollo” (chicken
fried rice) and his favorite drink is “piña colada” (virgin,
of course!)
